Kick Boxing
My name is Sensei Daniel (Dan) Gurulé, and I’ll be your Kickboxing instructor here at SportsFit. A little bit about my martial arts and fitness background. I’ve been trained in both traditional and modern styles of martial arts. I have a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and have been teaching Tae Kwon Do along with American Style Kickboxing, Boxing, Muay Thai, and various other martial arts, and fitness classes for well over a decade now. I’ve taught classes for kiddos as young as 4, to adults as young as 70+ years of age both in private and large groups. My adaptable and unique style of class is a combination of both what I’ve learned from my Grandmaster and from my studies as a martial artist and fitness professional. I’m also an ACE certified Personal Trainer and look forward to helping everyone continue to achieve and breakthrough their personal fitness goals and begin their amazing fitness journeys.
On a more personal note, I moved up to the Pacific Northwest for college when I was 18 from Colorado and have loved it ever since. Initially I lived in Poulsbo, WA much of that time. This is where I started truly delving into the martial arts and fitness learning under Grandmaster Todd Norcross at Cross Martial Arts Academy and have continued from there. As of now, I’ve more recently moved to Sequim for just a bit over a year now. My passions and interests vary from martial arts, the outdoors, working out, fitness, gaming, fine art and illustration, design, gemstones, jewelry, and much more. I look forward to meeting everyone and enjoy spreading my knowledge and passion to others who are willing to learn.
Kickboxing
Both a modern and traditional martial art from various countries that utilizes both the upper and lower limbs to strike and defend with. More presently kickboxing is utilized as a form of cardiovascular and strength training workout, sometimes to music rhythm or in timed intervals. More traditionally, depending on its country of origin, it’s utilized as a martial art, form of self-defense, combat training, and combat sport. Like other martial arts, it takes time, dedication, and helps both the body and mind learn to work together as one unit. It’s a thorough full-body workout blended and balanced with martial arts, self-defense, stretching, and breathing techniques. These classes are also completely modifiable to fit every form of body and fitness level.
